TEKsystems Junior Network Specialist in Westchester, New York


Looking for a Jr network specialist to backfill a resource who is moving to another district.

They are looking for two junior network specialists to join their team to help supplement support for their end users. This is an entry level opportunity, where they are looking for someone with 1-3 years' experience in the field. They will be operating out of the ServiceNow ticketing system on a daily basis and traveling to the classroom to resolve tickets in their queue. This person will need to have excellent communication and customer service skills because they will be interacting with end users on a daily basis.

This person should be comfortable to do some physical activity while in the job including: climbing up on ladders to change projector bulbs, swapping out projector equipment, troubleshooting smart boards, etc.

Candidate should have the following experience

-Mobile Device troubleshooting

-Proficient in Windows 7/10 troubleshooting

-Experience with Active Directory-adding/removing users, understanding of how group policies work

-Ability to install network operation systems and perform simple upgrades to the network

-Advanced knowledge of troubleshooting desktop systems

-General network connectivity troubleshooting (printers, routers, adding users, grouping)

-LAN/WAN experience

-Advanced knowledge of workstation setups and installations


Active Directory

Top Skills Details:

  1. 1-3 years' experience supporting Active Directory for adding/removing users, password resets, basic troubleshooting

  2. 1-3 years' experience supporting Microsoft Network troubleshooting (Configurations, Network Command lines: ping, IPconfig, vLAN support, trace route, DHCP, DNS, LDAP, subnets, gateways)

  3. 1-3 years' supporting mobile devices including iPads, Chromebooks, and troubleshooting smart boards

  4. Excellent communication skills, customer service experience
