With almost 900 physicians on staff, and a level II Trauma Center, we care for well over 100,000 patients annually across the south shore of Long Island. Our reputation for excellence is built on great choices and empowered leadership, and fosters a team that's focused on evidence based practice, continual learning and exceptional quality of care.The Pediatric Hospitalist is responsible for the admission, care and discharge of unassigned patients admitted to the Hospitalist ServicesResponsibilities:Admission, care and discharge of the private community physician's patients as requested by the physicianSupervision, oversight and teaching of the medical students, interns, residents while on sightMaintain the Standards of the Department of Pediatrics; promote high quality, cost effective care based on the best medical evidence; utilization of Care Management initiatives such as Clinical Pathways, standardized orders and discharge summariesParticipate in Hospital Committees as needed;Participate in data collection to assess patient care and satisfaction studies; make best efforts to keep current with developments in pediatrics, medical management and related areas through CME Programs, medical literature review and Medical Staff conferences.Hospitalists shall conduct themselves in conformity with the HIPAA and Corporate Compliance Programs and Medical Center policies and procedures for patient privacy and shall conduct themselves in conformity with Information Security policies and procedures.Requirements:Licensed to practice medicine in New York State requiredBoard Certified or Board eligible and trained in PediatricsAbility to teachBLS/PALS/AED training required and accepted from only 2 organizations: American Heart Association - BLS/ACLS/PALS for Healthcare Providers (CPR & AED) Program. American Red Cross - CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer.
