Human Resources Intern/Extern (Paid)

Location: VEGquarters, Valhalla, NY + REMOTE

Reports to: Regional Director, HR

Part-Time/Non-Exempt

FOCUS

The Human Resources internship will give you the opportunity to channel your HR drive and enthusiasm while learning all things HR. You will complete hands-on, meaningful day to day tasks, as well as, projects to support a variety of HR + Company initiatives. The Human Resources Internship is designed to be both educational and practical. During this period, the intern will take knowledge learned in an academic setting and apply it to day to day HR operations.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO DO

  • Assist HR with the onboarding/offboarding process

  • Assist in the Talent Acquisition process

  • Assist in HR, Culture + Educational initiatives as assigned

  • Complete individual projects related to VEG’s needs + personal HR interest

  • Make recommendations for innovative solutions to pain points

Requirements

WHAT YOU NEED

  • Currently an HR or related major at the collegiate level undergrad/grad

  • Familiarity with HR Information Systems, ATS + Payroll applications (PayCom) a+

  • Academic knowledge of benefits programs including: medical + 401k plans

  • Academic knowledge of state, local + federal employment/labor law

  • Outstanding communication and organizational skills as well as the ability to multi-task maintaining confidentiality a must

  • Ability to travel as needed for initiatives, challenges, recruitment and openings to name a few (majority is domestic travel within the region)

  • Energetic, motivated, passionate self-starter

  • Loves animals and caring for them
