ABOUT THE JOB
The Ittleson Community Residence (Bronx, NY) provides family, educational, and mental health programming for children ages 8-15 years' old who are struggling with emotional disturbances. Our Ittleson Homes provides a family-like environment with a less restrictive level of care, where residents can benefit from an enhanced level of interaction and function within the community.
The direct support professionals at Ittleson House work directly with adolescents in residence, assisting them to meet their treatment plans, and ensuring that their independent living skills are implemented daily. Acting as a positive role model and providing therapeutic parenting, the direct support professional is charged with the fundamental responsibility of the client's health and safety. This is direct support role in the Bronx.
The Jewish Board is currently looking for talented professionals of all cultures, religions, races, and gender expressions with the following qualifications:
- A High School diploma or GED equivalent is required
- A current, valid clean Driver's license is required for this position and throughout all DSP positions
- Prior experience in a residential setting, with a similar population
