Job Summary:The Bariatric Surgery Program Coordinator coordinates the Bariatric Surgery Program at University Hospital to assure continuity of care of the surgical bariatric patient. Collaborates in the implementation, coordination, and evaluation of multidisciplinary standards and protocols for bariatric surgery patients. Involved in all phases of management from pre-hospital care through post-operative care. The coordinator will track and monitor the database of bariatric surgical patients healthcare across the continuum. Monitors, facilitates, maintains, and coordinates the bariatric surgery website. Collaborates with the Nurse Manager for marketing strategies. Coordinates Bariatric Team conference and rounds. Consistently demonstrates an advanced level of clinical expertise and enhanced communication skills. Performs weekly maintenance on the database to assist in maintaining functionality and interacting with the database software vendor as necessary. Must be able to use computer equipment.
NYS licensed/registered or eligible RN required. Bachelor's degree and three years of acute nursing experience required. Experience caring for and assessing surgical patient's required.
Masters degree in Nursing preferred. Specialty nursing certification relating to patient population (i.e. CNRN, CCRN), and experience in program planning preferred. Computer expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel, and or similar databases preferred.
Monday-Friday, between 7AM-7PM
