Job Description

Coordinates and performs diversified administrative functions supporting the operational needs of department. Leads and guides clerical staff in the performance of daily clerical activities.

  1. Assists in prioritizing, scheduling and monitoring work to optimize operational service.

  2. Leads and guides clerical staff in the performance of duties. Provides orientation and training related to department administrative operations.

  3. Assists in resolving difficult or complex administrative issues, as needed.

  4. Performs diversified administrative/coordinative duties supporting department operations.

  • Composes correspondence, reports, memoranda, and related documents.

  • Schedules appointments and meetings. Makes necessary arrangements for meetings. Takes meeting minutes, as required.

  • Answers, screens, routes telephone calls; takes and delivers messages.

  • Performs various patient billing, collection, and third party reimbursement functions.

  1. Compiles and analyzes basic information and prepares statistical data for reporting purposes. Prepares presentation materials (charts, graphs, tables, graphics, etc.).

  2. Ensures proper maintenance and integrity of conventional and electronic records and information.

  3. Maintains department supply and equipment inventory. Initiates purchase orders and maintains records pertaining to budget process.

  4. Performs related duties as required.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required.

  • Minimum of two (2) years progressively responsible administrative experience in a healthcare setting, required.

  • Working knowledge of PC applications, required. Data entry skills, required.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology, required.
