AHRC New York City Activity Specialist Senior (EBS) in Staten Island, New York
Provides supervision and in-service training to Activity Specialist, Assistant Activity Specialist, including employee annual evaluation. Participation in the personnel process of hiring and when appropriate, staff termination. Provide orientation and training to new staff and develop ongoing in-service training. Maintain schedule of staff and assigned participants and arrange for appropriate coverage. Provide administrative support. Model appropriate work and/or social behaviors and skill acquisition for participants
A B.A. degree in a field of education, social work, psychology, rehabilitation or related human services from an accredited program.Two years experience as an Activity Specialist, (or related position), or a related field.Must have a valid Drivers License .Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form.Knowledge of physical and mental impairments and their effects on educational and social adjustments.Knowledge of aging process and its effect on chronic disabilities and developmental disabilities.
