Finishing Technician must be able to assemble, spray paint, dynamic balance and acceptance test various complex components from blue prints and process books. Hand tools both power and manual are used along with measuring equipment such as gauges and indicators.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ability to assemble, spray paint, dynamic balance and acceptance test various complex components from blue prints and process books.

  • Ability to use hand tools both power and manual are used along with measuring equipment such as gauges and indicators.

  • Obtains necessary stock, fixtures, tooling and gauging

  • Sprays parts

  • Performs Pressure Test

  • Performs sandblasting functions

  • Performs assembly functions

  • Performs functions of Assembler-Service Repair

  • Performs balancer functions

  • Performs test functions

  • Performs in-process inspection as a certified operator

  • Performs prepackaging (dow, cap, tag & bag)

  • Performs computer transactions

  • Moves parts to, from, within module

  • Cleans machines

  • General housekeeping

  • Provides direction to Module Support Tech

  • Must be able to train on 1st shift; permanent shift will be 2nd.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, preferably technical school background

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Blueprint and routing reading and comprehension

  • Competent with hand tools and experienced with measuring equipment

  • Basic computer skills such as log on, data entry and retrieval

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Must be able to obtain certifications and qualifications required to perform the job.

The Power Transmission System’s (PTS) division of Collins Aerospace is located in the heart of Rome, NY. Rome is delightfully situated in Central New York between the historic cities of Albany and Syracuse, and conveniently located an hour south of the stunning Adirondack Mountains. Our PTS business is home to the production of drive shafts and couplings units for our many Aerospace and Industrial customers.
