Sr. Manager, Project Management

Overall Job Summary:
The Sr. Manager, Project Management is responsible for establishing a standardized approach to all projects and providing operational management for the department including planning and tracking, problem solving and exception handling. The Sr. Manager, Project Management will lead, mentor and support the Project Management team to ensure that BioTelemetry Research delivers quality, on-time deliverables to its customers. This position will be responsible for ensuring company policy and procedures are adhered to and will provide a mechanism for continuous improvement tracking within the department. This position will develop and deploy a Development and Training program for both new hires and existing employees which will enhance individual skill sets and promote strong leadership. The Sr. Manager, Project Management will maintain and communicate departmental metrics to provide objective statistics within the department. Thus position will provide full Project Life Cycle Support to all projects.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities
Maintaining a positive, results-oriented work environment by building partnerships, modeling teamwork and communicating in an open, balanced and objective manner
Mentoring and managing project management group through establishment of mutually agreed objectives and professional development plans, and by monitoring successful achievement and performance
Ensuring adequate training is provided to employees for all new and updated processes
Assessing Training Curriculum and current staff understanding and identify training needs, for new employees and for continuous improvement/development of existing staff
Managing project workload and resource forecasts for the group, as well as project assignment
Identifying personnel resources for new and existing projects
Creating and maintaining departmental capacity plans to ensure department is adequately staffed at all times
Developing operational metrics for assessment of project performance
Providing strategic and tactical management and leadership to ensure projects proceed on schedule
Serving as the escalation point for project managers in resolution of customer or cross-functional issues that cannot be resolved at the project manager level
Ensuring the proper tools are provided to the team and that they are being used effectively; identify/obstacles and make corrective actions/recommendations as necessary
Monitoring the efficiencies of current operational processes and identify and/or lead opportunities for improvement
Compiling the metrics required to generate Project Manager scorecards
Completing monthly project scorecards and performance meetings for their assigned Project Management team
Providing upper level management with high level project operations performance metrics based on scorecards
Supporting Finance by updating and providing monthly Backlog Report, Revenue Evidence for financial audits, and managing revenue cycles
Communicating Best Practice/Lessons Learned Feedback
Promoting a proactive, professional culture within the Project Management department and contributing to the group's success
Ensuring the team is compliant with standard procedures and other company policies
Leading customer meetings and escalations when required
Representing Project Management at Business Development Meetings, Customer Meetings, etc
Supporting the Vice President, Operations with the review of outgoing budgets and change requests to ensure proper budget coverage, assisting in the development of costing for new services
Supporting Global Sales and Marketing team in their activities as they relate to the customer interactions
May manage governance programs for large customer accounts
Travel required up to 25% of the time

Other Duties/Responsibilities (list other performed duties)

Education and Experience Requirements:
Education: Minimum of a Bachelor's degree (Business, Life Sciences) or equivalent business experience in a regulated environment
Relevant Work Experience: Minimum 7-10 years of Project or Account Management / Planning / Managerial experience desired. Minimum three (3) years managing aspects of clinical trials. Supervision experience required
