Lead Security Engineer will be responsible for the daily management of Rochester Regional Health’s suite of security products. Lead Security Engineer will have a lead role in selecting and implementing security solutions for Rochester Regional Health. These solutions will be based on security best practices and follow industry standards. Guiding compliance to major governance and regulatory standards such as HITRUST CSF, PCI DSS, NYS Data Privacy and SSAE 16 is a key departmental goal.


  • BS in Information Security, Computer Science, Information Technology with concentration in Security or 8 years’ experience in Information Technology field, with at least 4 years working in Information Security.

  • At least 5 years of experience in evaluating security and deploying security controls within IT applications and infrastructure technologies (server, desktop, mobile devices).

  • Experience with McAfee Enterprise Product Suite Required.

  • Maintain at least one Industry Standard Security certification, such as: CISSP, GIAC, CISM, etc...

  • Experience administering Windows, Mac and *NIX servers and desktops.

  • Knowledge of the HITRUST Common Security Framework required.


  • Develop and maintain a reference architecture for the layered protection of information assets leveraging a breadth of security products.

  • Internal resident expert on all McAfee products ( ePO, ENS, TIE, ATD, DXL, CDP, WBG, DLP)

  • Implement and configure new and existing McAfee products and other security products

  • Administers security tools and works with other Security Engineering and Systems personnel to ensure software agents are installed and properly updating.

  • Test and apply McAfee and other security products tools and OS patches as required.

  • Review Security alerts from McAfee and other security products and tools

  • Setup Automated Event Notifications.

  • Create and track policies and exclusions.
