Volvo Group Warehouse Handler in Plattsburgh, New York

Core Responsibilities:

  • Support the production line

  • Load, unload, and move materials within or near plant, yard, or work site.

  • Read work order or follow oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.

  • Open containers using steel cutters, crowbar, claw hammer, or other hand tools. Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.

  • Load materials into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit, using hand tools.

  • Assemble crates to contain products, using hand tools and precut lumber.

  • Attach identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers.

  • Load and unload trucks with forklift/pallet jack.

  • Lift heavy objects by hand, and maintains cleanliness of work area, machines, and equipment, using broom, rags, and cleaning compounds.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Experience in forklift operation

  • Good problem solving skills

  • Commitment to quality work

  • Continuous Improvement mindset

  • Able to implement lean manufacturing concepts

  • Able to work in a team based environment

  • Able to perform physical work including lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs

  • Able to work overtime as needed

  • Must be able to work multiple shifts

There are several work schedules. Applicants must be able to work any shift.
