Crestron Electronics continues to experience rapid growth as we invest in resources and create new opportunities; as a result, we have an exciting opportunity for a Summer 2021 Intern (May 26th, 2021 - August, 13th, 2021) to join our Supplier Quality Assurance team in Orangeburg, NY.

An Intern in the Supplier Quality Group can expect to:

  • support researching quality cases with a current Supplier Quality Engineer with the goal to close aging cases

  • have exposure to failure mode and root cause analysis on multiple products and product families

  • experience how the Material Review Board functions in dispositioning nonconforming products

  • handle a few smaller cases on his/her own before the end of the internship period

  • interact with multiple groups within Creston including Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality Engineering, Design Engineering.

This Intern will learn about dealing with internal and external suppliers from an engineering perspective and will learn about quality systems and procedures. They will participate in meetings and actions related to the cases they are handling or helping with, and will be mentored by an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer.

General Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in a college or university working toward a bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial/Systems Engineering or closely related field.

  • Must be available to work up to 40 hours per week during the entire internship period beginning May 26th, 2021 and ending August 13th, 2021.

  • Must be commutable to and from the Orangeburg, NY area for the duration of the internship period. Remote Internship for part of the internship period is possible.

Technical Skills

  • Mechanical and/or electrical aptitude

  • Basic engineering principals course work

  • Basic statistics

  • Elective Coursework in areas such as plastics, metals, electronics assembly, quality control, etc.

  • Ability to read technical drawings

Other Skills:

  • Must be responsible, self-motivated, creative, have a solid work ethic and have a desire to produce a quality product

  • Strong communication skills (verbal, non-verbal, written, and listening) with the ability to articulate work at different levels of the organization

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Inquisitive individual with a desire to learn, possessing a long term desire to work in the Quality Assurance or Quality Engineering space

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and handle numerous assignments simultaneously

  • Positive, personable, and able to work cohesively with other across various divisions
