POSITION SUMMARY:

In partnership with VP Integrated Communications and Content support the development and execution of public relations strategies for brand initiatives including crisis management, corporate initiatives (like Social Impact, Diversity and Inclusion programs), large scale launches, retailer awareness programs including speaking engagements, industry awards and Sr. Executives interview opportunities.

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

STRATEGIC

  • Develops traditional and digital communication strategies for key internal audiences, including executives, employees, and artist, developing and executing strategic communication plans for strategic initiatives and key issues

  • Help set the strategic direction of the company’s corporate reputation and media efforts, including collaborating with senior management to secure buy-in on strategies that are aligned with business objectives.

  • Develop high-quality written materials that convey MAC’s corporate narrative, including messaging platforms, press releases, Q&As, speeches, editorials, etc.

  • Support VP on corporate presentations, executive announcements and communications execution.

RISK & REPUTATION

  • Function as the key contact for MAC crisis and issues; collaborate with Legal, Corporate Communications and the brand on crisis and issues action plans to protect the brand's equity globally.

  • Enhance issues management and active mitigation capabilities at M∙A∙C with greater emphasis on early issue identification, response speed and resolution.

  • Deliver both preventative and active mitigation plans.

  • Responsible for all crisis communications, including strategy, planning and execution.

  • Monitor MAC Mates, brand socials, online brand mentions and upcoming collections for potential red flags and escalate accordingly.

  • Engage with key players (Corporate Communications, Legal, HR, OCS, GCC and CM) to establish and implement swift solutions.

  • Provide media monitoring and additional communications support during crises.

  • Lead risk assessment for talent partnerships and collaborations, collaborate with Corporate Communications for external counsel accordingly.

  • Support on going Animal Welfare communications. Provide tools and messaging on progress to key stakeholders, including internal team leaders, global artists, educators, external customers, talent and influencers.

  • Work with VP Global Communications and Corporate Communications to provide quarterly updates to CEO of company and Executive Group President regarding Animal Welfare issues.

SR. EXECUTIVES & INTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS

  • Assess executive and brand business media and speaking opportunities and provide messaging and guidance to participating executives

  • Provide leadership and advisement on brand communication creation, review and approval.

  • Builds and fosters collaborative relationships with other departments within the Corporation to stay informed and abreast of new initiatives, goals, and services

  • Develop media positioning strategies for the brand and key MAC Executives

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships internally and externally.

Qualifications

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 8 years relevant experience in similar environment

  • College degree required

  • English required and additional languages preferred

  • Experience in executing national press strategies

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Strategic and creative mindset
