QBE The Americas Treasury Risk and Compliance Analyst in New York, New York

This opportunity is accountable for building an in-depth knowledge of assigned area(s) and supporting the risk assessment process as the 1st line of defense (1LOD). Partner with direct manager and Group Finance Risk, Compliance & Governance teams on monitoring and reporting on risk management objectives.
Primary Responsibilities

Issues/Incidents Management:
Assist Treasury in the remediation of issues and incidents
Report Treasury issues and manage the entry and update process into the risk management system

Policy/Governance:
Assist Finance in creating, implementing and maintaining Finance policies
Assist Finance in implementing risk management strategies and policies

Risk & Control:
Provide guidance and support to Treasury to ensure appropriate risk and control processes are in place and adhered to
Evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts and build a clear understanding of risk related trends
Conduct Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs) and ad hoc risk reviews - Undertake the day-to-day identification, measurement, mitigation and reporting of risks in accordance with the Risk Management Framework requirements
Maintain Treasury obligation register to ensure proactive identification of compliance issues and accurate and timely resolution

Processes:
Assist Treasury in streamlining global processes
Assist overseeing internal and external audits on behalf of Treasury
Maintain Treasury's business continuity plans

Development:
Actively undertake personal development to ensure up to date knowledge and skills
Communicate with the ERM Risk Partner to gain exposure and build a foundation of issuing documentation, root-cause analysis, rating, cross-functional dependencies, legal/compliance engagement, risk treatment action plans and appropriateness of target dates
Create, maintain and manage relationships with key stakeholders including 2nd lines of defense (Risk and Compliance), 3rd line of defense (Internal Audit) and Finance to ensure collaborative and informed decision-making

Required Education
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience

Required Experience
3 years relevant experience (Accounting, Finance, or Treasury)

Preferred Experience
Insurance industry experience

Preferred Competencies/Skills
* Strong computer skills and ability to learn new systems
* Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
* Effective research and investigative strategies and best practices
* Ability to develop relationships with key stakeholders, both internally and externally
* Understanding of insurance concepts and disciplines, varies by line of business
* Clearly and confidently convey information to various audiences through speech and writing
Motivational, inspirational and enthusiastic approach to team involvement and engagement

Preferred Knowledge
* Relevant trends, standards, best practices and information within insurance and treasury
* Strong analytical capabilities
* Working knowledge of treasury department operations, principles and best practices
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

Licenses/ Certifications:
Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) preferred

Travel Frequency
Infrequent (approximately 1-4 trips annually)

Physical Demands
General office jobs: Work is generally performed in an office environment in which there is not substantial exposure to adverse environmental conditions. Must have the ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time. Must be able to operate basic office equipment including telephone, headset and computer. Incumbent must be able to lift basic office equipment up to 20 lbs.
