HSBC Senior Manager Stress Testing (Finance) in New York, New York
Description
The role holder will be a member of the Review & Challenge (R&C) team within US Strategic Planning & Stress Testing (SP&ST), which is responsible for managing the review and challenge process for all US stress tests, including preparation of consolidated results materials for senior management and Board reviews. Key responsibilities of the role holder will include the following:
Review and challenge of projections submitted by Business Finance and Functional teams and understanding the drivers of results, including scenario trends, model drivers, key assumptions, sensitivities and limitations
Creation of high-quality presentation materials that summarize stress testing processes, projection methodologies and results for senior management and the Board
Assisting with coordination and execution of rigorous review and challenge framework, including preparation of presentation materials, tracking of follow-up actions through resolution, documentation of meeting discussions, and updating various regulatory submission documents
Conducting benchmarking and other ad hoc analysis to provide financial and business insights based on stress testing results
Support stress testing production planning and execution processes, including coordination across work streams to understand dependencies and negotiate timelines to meet submission deadlines, as well as monitoring execution during production
Supporting the broader US SP&ST team on ad hoc analysis or projects aimed at improving processes or producing more insightful analysis for senior management
Qualifications
Employment eligibility to work with HSBC in the U.S. is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or any other quantitative discipline, advanced degree a plus
Experience working in Finance or Risk at a financial institution in an analytical role, preferably in financial forecasting, stress testing or a related area
8 years of relevant work experience
Significant knowledge of financial operations, including forecasting, financial modeling, results analysis, controls management and reporting processes
Ability to comprehend complex or technical information and summarize it into easily understood explanations for peers or senior management
Experience creating high quality presentation materials for senior management or Board-level audiences that require skillful slide design capability and significant attention to detail
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
Strong sense of accountability and a self-starter with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects
Understanding of project management best practices
Strong relationship management, collaboration and influencing skills
Ability to work under pressure and deliver under tight deadlines
High degree of emotional intelligence
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
