Legal and Commercial Services professionals deliver and coordinate legal, contract and commercial advice and counsel in support of Accenture's or our clients' business, working to manage and mitigate risk and ensure ethical behavior and compliance with laws and company policies.

Scope of Responsibilities:

You will:

  • Have a significant amount of individual responsibility in assisting the Director of Competition Law with designing, implementing and managing Accenture's global competition law program, including competition law issues associated with teaming arrangements, license agreements, mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures, employment, procurement and data management.

  • Serve as one of Accenture's legal subject matter expert on competition laws by:

  • providing advice to Accenture businesses and Legal Professionals regarding compliance with competition laws;

  • providing thought leadership for Accenture's global compliance efforts generally by staying abreast of compliance industry best practices and changes in laws and regulations;

  • assisting in the development of related policies, tools and other materials to address business and legal requirements; and

  • developing and conducting training on competition law issues.

  • Collaborate with Legal M&A colleagues to identify, analyze and mitigate substantive antitrust issues and coordinate merger control filings in the United States and around the world, and

  • Assist in responding to government inquires.

Reports to: Director of Competition Law Relationships: Other Ethics & Compliance team members and legal colleagues, relevant business teams, other corporate functions such as Human Resources and Marketing and outside law firms.

Work Requirements: Some travel required at times (15% or less)

Basic Qualifications:

  • Education: J.D. or equivalent law degree (based on geography) required

  • Work Experience: At least 6 years of experience as a competition law attorney

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Skills Experience: driving antitrust compliance initiatives across a global organization; explaining complex legal requirements in a collaborative and understandable way

  • Broad experience with U.S. and international competition laws, including counseling, litigation, government investigations, and merger control matters

  • Excellent practical understanding of competition and regulatory issues within the IT industry

  • Knowledge of compliance & ethics framework for global corporations in connection with competition law issues and programs

  • Ability to synthesize complex legal analysis into clear recommendations

  • Comfortable providing ad hoc verbal advice as well as being able to provide legally sound formal written advice

Professional Skills:

  • Good executive presence and the ability to work effectively with the senior business leaders at Accenture, partners from law firms

  • Demonstrated leadership in professional setting; either military or civilian

  • Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration in a professional setting; either military or civilian
