How you’ll contribute
Our Lung Bioengineering (LBE) facility is currently seeking a Regional Transplant Center (TXC) and Organ Procurement Organization (OPO) Liaison to support eastern US operations. In this role remote-based position, you will support LBE’s mission to be the most trusted provider of centralized ex vivo organ perfusion services, while supporting innovative research to significantly increase the national availability of transplantable organs. Your primary focus will be to establish and maintain relationships with, as well as training, various stakeholders at TXCs and OPOs within LBE’s service range and increase the use of our Ex Vivo Lung Perfusion (EVLP) technology regionally.
Collaborate with key decision-makers of TXC partners/prospective partners and OPOs to educate on LBE service model, EVLP device, and overall value proposition
Train medical professionals on LBE service model and EVLP device
Ensure timely post-EVLP procedure communications with TXCs to debrief and identify opportunities for improvement
Plan and conduct regular visits to TXCs to maintain relationships, provide support and identify opportunities for process improvements
Identify ongoing needs for TXC and OPO partners and develop content to create communications tools/other solutions to address these needs
Work with Lung Bioengineering clinical leadership to communicate new and ongoing initiatives to OPOs and transplant centers
Develop expertise on lung transplant landscape in US and Lung Bioengineering’s EVLP services to LBE leadership to support strategic decisions
Liaison between TXC and EVLP Specialists to address clinical/technical questions
Identify local ACIN qualified surgeon resource which may independently contract with LBE for lung explant procedures
Maintain a detailed CRM on clients and life cycle management
Work with creative agencies to deliver tactics in a timely manner on budget on an ongoing basis
Work with UT’s payer/reimbursement group to communicate EVLP strategies
Establish and maintain relationships with current and future thought leaders
Represent and support organizational efforts at transplant conferences, meetings, and symposia and report key information back to relevant internal stakeholders
Adhere to internal standard processes and comply with regulatory and compliance requirements
Perform other duties as assigned
For this role you will need
Bachelor’s degree in Scientific or Clinical field or equivalent experience
3+ years of experience working as an organ procurement coordinator, thoracic transplant coordinator, thoracic transplant device sales, or a thoracic transplant medical science liaison/scientist
Demonstrated experience building and maintaining relationships with TXCs and/or OPOs
Demonstrated experience training physicians in the transplant or cardiothoracic space
Proficiency in OPO processes
Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to travel up to 60%
Certified Procurement Transplant Coordinator (CPTC)
Clinician and scientific acumen in thoracic surgery and/or thoracic transplant procedures
Familiar with UNOS policies and procedures regarding lung allocation, procurement, donor management, and data reporting
Familiar with transplant reimbursement process and policies
Previous experience with EVLP devices
Previous experience with Veeva as a CRM or PRB tool
Ability to forecast, maintain a robust CRM, and analytical skills to review TXC data and dashboards
