The Citi Technology Innovation Center (CTIC) at Cornell Tech drives innovation through research institution partnerships, industry exposure and practical experience. CTIC is looking for a quantum algorithm designer to work on optimal implementation of quantum algorithms on IBM-Q quantum computer systems. You’ll work closely with our front office teams and quantum hardware and software vendors to expand our portfolio of quantum algorithms. We’re looking for people who are self-motivated, self-directed, innovative and communicative, with a great attitude and work ethic.

Cross Business, Cross Products, Cross Functions

Responsibilities:

  • Translating front office classical algorithms into quantum algorithms

  • Mapping known quantum algorithms to the IBM-Q system

  • Developing new quantum algorithms for the IBM-Q system

  • Working with quantum engineers to implement algorithms on the IBM-Q system

  • Contributing to technical documentation

  • Contributing to product planning and improvement

Qualifications

Required Skills/Education :

  • Doctorate degree in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields or Bachelor's degree in the above fields with five years of working experience

  • Demonstrated experience in quantum information theory

  • Working knowledge of quantum algorithms

  • Success working collaboratively in a team environment

Desired Skills:

  • Proficient with quantum information methods

  • Experience working with software development teams

  • Working knowledge of Java, Python and C

  • Working knowledge of Linux
