Position Summary

Reporting to the Administrator for the Division of Rheumatology, the Practice Manager is responsible for oversight of the clinical operation, including facility management, front-end revenue cycle processes, staff training and support. The Practice Manager will manage day-to-day practice operations, patient service activities and operational workflow within the Division of Rheumatology clinical practice.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the consistent application of patient flow efficiencies and best practice processes.

  • Implement patient service initiatives and practice workflow optimization.

  • Monitor and maintain practice office and medical supply inventory.

  • Ensure practice runs in an organized and efficient manner: track visit volume trends; maintain faculty schedules; and monitor staff time.

  • Oversee, train and support of front-end revenue cycle operations including scheduling, registration, insurance verification, referrals/authorizations and cash management.

  • Provide assistance with the resolution of missing charges, edits, and inquiries from the revenue cycle office, as these pertain to practice revenue and operations.

  • Ensure prompt response to requests for medical records and other information from the FPO, PBS, Credentialing and the Office of Compliance.

  • Manage third-party insurance credentialing and re-credentialing of divisional faculty.

  • Train on the EPIC electronic medical record to serve as an expert resource for the faculty and staff.

  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus four years related experience

  • Experience with faculty practice operations and/or academic medical center operations

  • Knowledge of billing, CPT and ICD-10

  • Practical knowledge of Excel and Word

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • The candidate must ensure service excellence by becoming thoroughly familiar with the “Seven Principles of Behavior” and putting them into practice in carrying out responsibilities

  • Conforms to all applicable HIPAA, billing compliance and safety guidelines
