Reporting to the Administrator for the Division of Rheumatology, the Practice Manager is responsible for oversight of the clinical operation, including facility management, front-end revenue cycle processes, staff training and support. The Practice Manager will manage day-to-day practice operations, patient service activities and operational workflow within the Division of Rheumatology clinical practice.
Supervise the consistent application of patient flow efficiencies and best practice processes.
Implement patient service initiatives and practice workflow optimization.
Monitor and maintain practice office and medical supply inventory.
Ensure practice runs in an organized and efficient manner: track visit volume trends; maintain faculty schedules; and monitor staff time.
Oversee, train and support of front-end revenue cycle operations including scheduling, registration, insurance verification, referrals/authorizations and cash management.
Provide assistance with the resolution of missing charges, edits, and inquiries from the revenue cycle office, as these pertain to practice revenue and operations.
Ensure prompt response to requests for medical records and other information from the FPO, PBS, Credentialing and the Office of Compliance.
Manage third-party insurance credentialing and re-credentialing of divisional faculty.
Train on the EPIC electronic medical record to serve as an expert resource for the faculty and staff.
Perform additional duties and responsibilities as needed.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus four years related experience
Experience with faculty practice operations and/or academic medical center operations
Knowledge of billing, CPT and ICD-10
Practical knowledge of Excel and Word
Excellent customer service skills
The candidate must ensure service excellence by becoming thoroughly familiar with the “Seven Principles of Behavior” and putting them into practice in carrying out responsibilities
Conforms to all applicable HIPAA, billing compliance and safety guidelines
