As the Market Risk Policy Manager, you will be a key member of the Market Risk Analytics, Policy and Initiatives Management team. The team is responsible for the overall governance, and initiatives management (regulatory and strategic) for four risk areas:
Counterparty Credit Risk
Liquidity Risk and
Interest Rate Risk
We have gone through a rapid development phase with several initiatives underway to redesign the market risk area making this a great opportunity for a highly motivated individual who is looking for a new challenge.
A major part of your role will be to assist with the enhancement of the market risk policy and governance framework, and to act as a liaison across the various risk groups to facilitate communication regarding market risk issues and policy.
Issue Management – Constant liaison with assigned risk managers, review and validate closure packages, and coordinate Business Unit Risk Manager (BURM) & Internal Audit walkthroughs
Policy & Procedure - Maintain Central Policy Portal for registered policies, provide governance guidance and support to comply with enterprise guidelines, create draft policy language for assigned Risk Managers (content), and review final drafts of policy and procedures with Risk Managers to ensure quality and consistency of content
Assist Risk Managers with (document) breach memo, liaise with risk managers for final review, and communication with Division Chief Risk Officers;
Support audit/regulatory communications and submissions, record retrieval based on 1st day letters, and maintain consistent framework/record keeping across risk areas
Business Continuity – Coordinate the business continuity plan and updates. Organize and manage testing programs/annual off-site, and report results to risk managers
Global System Access Control -Validate semi-annual user reports, prepare Global System Access Requests, and maintain records
Compliance - Prepare monthly 35 Items Report, facilitate routine attestations and assessment requests, and coordinate SARBOX Program Reviews
RIM (Records Information Management) - Single contact for periodic reports on retention policies. Coordinate resolution of assessment findings
Support onboarding and exiting of Market Risk Management staff.
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting or related field, preferred
7 to 10 years of risk management or audit experience in consulting, banking or financial services
In-depth knowledge of risk policy, governance, and analytics
Risk project and issues management experience
Strong written and verbal communication
Excellent analytical and quantitative skills
Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to work with management and staff of all levels independently as well as in a team environment.
Highly proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
