How will you make an impact in this role?
The Global Media Team’s mission is to generate and inspire media & marketing thought leadership that drives marketplace demand for Amex products and services. We’re seeking a Manager or Senior Manager of Global Media that will help our team accomplish the following:
Act as a change agent to drive innovation and navigate the evolving media landscape
Provide holistic strategic perspective across business units and geographies
Build strategic platforms that drive prospect relevance at scale
Instill a culture of testing, measurement, and sharing best practices across the organization
Use enterprise spend to negotiate media cost savings and first-to-market opportunities
Key Responsibilities:
Management and day-to-day liaising of strategic brand campaigns across global markets.
Help develop holistic communications plan and media buying strategy across all paid channels, i.e., television, radio, print, out-of-home, and digital media
Deliver media thought leadership and drive innovation as a subject matter authority in media
Author and present performance reports, global best practices, POVs, and planning guidelines to international and business unit partners while influencing strategy
Develop and analyze campaign performance metrics
Collaborate with internal and agency partners to develop and maintain tactical communications (media) plans and ensure Amex is receiving best in class pricing/value for multi-market programs
Work across multiple time zones with primary points of contact with Agency-Central hubs (NY/LDN) and colleagues around the world
Maintain and communicate up-to-date records of the media budgets for all financial management & global media investment tracking requirements
Complete compliance and legal approval for new media tactics and partner content as needed
Partner with agency and in-house SME groups on audience targeting strategy and data driven projects (e.g. measurement plans, global test & learns, segmentation)
Support teams in customer journey mapping and tracking
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years agency experience in media or communications planning, with expertise in paid social, search and digital channels, including programmatic
Solid understanding of media measurement, emerging channels, and evolving communications paradigms
Courage of one’s convictions, showcasing strong thought leadership and ability to breakthrough at the marketing table, challenge the status quo, and defend media principles
Detail-orientated, with outstanding project management & accountancy skills (handling timelines, processes and media implementation needs)
Self-starter and problem solver who thrives in a rapidly changing, dynamic environment
Ability to work autonomously as well as collaborate effectively with others and build positive relationships across a large organization
Bachelor’s degree
