JOB SUMMARY

Serves as the lead communications contact for the company’s Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) programs and initiatives. Oversees both strategy and execution of complex and high profile internal and/or external communication materials (e.g. newsletters, press releases, internet/intranet pages, presentations, email communications, social media content). Brings in-depth knowledge of D&I best practices and communication strategies that align to business goals and serves as a primary consultant/advisor to Chief Diversity Officer. Manages projects in coordination with cross-functional partners (e.g. Marketing, People, Digital & Technology, etc.) and other members of the Corporate Communications team, including global projects. Responsible for analytics and reporting of outcomes. May serve as primary D&I content developer for corporate social media channels.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drives the development and delivery of communications plans and programming in support of the Chief Diversity Officer and the D&I function. Work may be written word or visual or both; and/or technical in nature.

  • Develops strategic messaging for internal departments and company-side strategic initiatives, with limited oversight.

  • Serves as an advisor on a variety of communications channels to support program goals, including email, intranet, video messaging, social media, PR, media walls, etc.

  • Interacts with Chief Diversity Officer to define strategy, review progress, seek feedback.

  • Drives the development of analytics and reporting. Tracks engagement with content and reports on analytics. Examples of managing to performance metrics include: tracking engagement with employees around internal content and measuring engagement with social media posts.

  • May develop press releases and work with Corporate Communications team members to disseminate them to the media.

  • May develop strategic messaging and content to support external positioning

  • Develops, updates and maintains presentations for the Chief Diversity Officer and/or other members of the D&I team.

QUALIFICATIONS

This is a global role. Decisions are made with in-depth understanding and interpretation of procedures, company policies and business practices to achieve general results. Responsible for setting department deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause long-term impact to co-workers, supervisor, department and/or line of business.

  • Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) in Communications, PR, or Marketing or a related discipline from 4-year college or university. Requires a minimum of 6 years of related experience to include at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory capacity.

  • Demonstrated success in identifying and implementing best practices of diversity and inclusion and an excellent command of modern diversity and inclusion concepts strongly preferred.

  • Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex business documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive issues. Ability to write reports, speeches and articles using distinctive style. Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to employees, clients, top management and/or public groups. Ability to motivate and negotiate effectively with key employees, top management, and client groups to take desired action.

  • Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of options in complex situations Proven experience in developing strategic solutions for a growing matrix-based multi-industry sales environment. Draws upon the analysis of others and makes recommendations that have a direct impact on the company.

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite applications.
