As we expand our retail footprint to include more Cafes, we're finding ways to be more innovative, relevant and impactful - and we're looking for a Director of Hospitality and Engagement to help us.
As the Director Hospitality & Engagement at Capital One, you'll lead the team responsible for creating a winning hospitality experience in our Cafes - through exceptional food & beverage offering and compelling programs and events. Your work will delight and engage consumers-with a direct impact on the company's bottom line. This role reports into the Head of Construction, Retail Experience and Design.
Oversee Cafe event programming strategy and execution - including speaker series, pop-up events, brand-building engagements and other programming designed to create engagement and brand lift.
Oversee Food & Beverage vendors, planning and service to adhere to quality and safety standards and find fresh ways to entice and delight visitors.
Clear understanding of operational challenges and leadership in driving operational priorities.
Ability to understand and drive profit and loss priorities.
Identifying and maximizing partnership opportunities to create meaningful events that reflect our brand and engage our visitors.
Identify event marketing opportunities to promote food & beverage products and drive innovative menu development.
Maintain on-going competitive and consumer intelligence within markets to ensure that our F&B offerings address shifting preferences.
Work closely with Visual Merchandising, Product Partners, Construction Delivery, Risk and Cafe Open teams to ensure that projects are delivered on time, on budget, and on brief.
Collaborate effectively with key stakeholders across the consumer experience - including the Market Executives, Retail Strategy and Analytic, Retail Operations, Marketing, Digital Product Technology and construction teams.
Cultivate an agile, results-driven culture of innovation and excellence.
We're looking for someone with impressive hospitality experience, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delighting customers. Desired skills and experience include:
Expertise in identifying and shaping strategic hospitality initiatives, including seasonal and regional POVs.
Strong experience in setting an activation and event strategy that aligns to broader Marketing initiatives.
Strong brand-building expertise - you know how to win people over through experiencers that resonate and moments that connect.
Food & beverage operational know-how - you understand the back-end mechanics that go into an exceptional customer experience.
A keen eye for consumer trends and consumer insights - you know how to adapt the experience to meet changing consumer appetites and needs.
Ability to see projects through from inception to creative execution, collaborating with multiple stakeholders and partners along the way.
Ability to influence, collaborate and build strong relationships at all levels - and to inspire, coach and develop a team of associates.
A get-it-done ethos and an entrepreneurial spirit - you're excited by the challenge to build the team and grow the brand.
Bachelor's Degree or Military experience
At least 10 years of experience developing strategic marketing initiatives within the Food, Beverage, Hospitality, Retail, Agency or Start up industry
At least 10 years of direct experience with third party hospitality management consulting groups or within a hospitality or food and beverage organization
At least 2 years experience in Profit & Loss impact and accounting practices
At least 2 years of food and beverage operations management experience
MBA or Master's Degree
Extensive experience in the food service industry, including a vast knowledge of establishing and maintaining long-term client relationships
Business/marketing knowledge to understand how programming activities can contribute to overall business goals
