The preferred location for the role is in Riverwoods, IL however, we are open to Chicago or NYC
Responsible for the development and implementation of the LRUS technology strategy for customer facing information technology products/projects. Manages multiple technical teams across LRUS consisting of on/off shore Developers, Architects, QA, and Business Analysts resources. Provides technical oversight on development efforts utilizing the GPO (Global Platform Organization).
Establishes a full life cycle development methodology in support of the transformation of LRUS to an expert solutions provider. Leverages applicable methodologies such as Lean/Agile and associated technologies as appropriate to help the business meet product goals / objectives. Provides leadership and direction to assigned program/project resources, motivating staff and facilitating delivery of defined business priorities. Actively participates in both short and long-range strategy planning for assigned area ensuring business case intent and delivery.
Serves as the primary point of contact from project/program from inception to delivery. Monitors and controls the delivery and quality of deliverables, as well as managing the project completion process through customer acceptance. Has overall responsibility for decisions and management of assigned initiatives. Provides strategic direction, coaches and mentors staff.
Works with Business Unit heads during strategic planning and VSP processes to provide technology insight and guidance included as part of the strategic planning processes.
Establishes technology implementation roadmaps for product/business initiatives, harmonizes resources and tools used in pursuit of roadmaps to drive greater efficiencies and faster time to revenue
Works directly with customers and external technology partners to help establish technology strategies for implementation and support of LRUS business solutions; participates both pre and post-sale as needed for strategic accounts
Works closely with the GDPI and GPO teams to further divisional level product and technology strategies
Work closely with Product Managers/Owners to understand their goals and needs of our customers
Serves as an advocate for the business in all technical matters including when working with clients, the GPO or external partners/vendors
Continually reviews the suite of product applications, develops plans to remediate technical debt, reduce risk, and drive efficiency/reuse as appropriate
Facilitates cross-functional communication and interactions between engineering, sales & marketing, product managers/owners, leadership teams
Drives organizational structure and plan to facilitate rapid development / market testing of new innovative solutions
Participates in the annual budgeting and quarterly reforecasting process to establish and manage the overall technology budget in accordance with business objectives and EC guidance
Ensures appropriate time reporting and project documentation is completed
Ensures annual performance planning is completed and aligned with departmental strategies
Ensures appropriate technical direction is taken and makes decisions with architects for tools/technologies to either aid the development process or set a foundation for the completed system
Minimum of fifteen years of full life cycle (including support/ops), business to business information technology development experience
Minimum of ten years of leadership experience and managing large cross-functional teams and projects
Minimum of a Bachelor's Computer Science, Information Systems or related degree, Master's Degree preferred
Strong experience in Agile/SCRUM methodologies, proven track record of managing teams in 2-3 week sprint cycles
Experience working with multiple distributed (including near and/or off shore) teams
Exposure to Lean Startup principles, understanding of early stage innovation development efforts
Ability to work with and influence senior level management / key stakeholders
C Level client facing, consultative experience with an emphasis on the integration of solutions into a client environment at the enterprise level
Advanced technical and business knowledge in software development life cycle, quality assurance, project management and other related disciplines/processes
Prior hands-on technical experience working with a blend of Microsoft, Java and open source technologies in SQL and non-SQL environments
Understanding of Legal and/or Health Markets is a plus
Experience in both enterprise and startup environments is a plus
