IBM Cyber Security Command Center Professional – CISO in New York, New York

Your Role and Responsibilities

Sum mary : The IBM Command center is a fairly new team within the CISO organization, we are responsible for ensuring high priority Cybersecurity events and incidents are communicated and coordinated across the IBM enterprise, to ensure the appropriate actions are being taken. We are focused on being the team that ensures the work from Threat intel and threat hunt is being worked across the enterprise and actions taken. A candidate with some technical project mgmt may also be a good fit.

Key skills are being able to identify when a high priority event needs immediate action and also having the knowledge to identify those initial steps of what action items should be taken and most importantly, making sure the right people are engaged and driving the urgent need.

We also will be responsible for metrics: Right now our focus has been on high priority incident response, but we want to be able to take this to the next level and provide information around trending, etc.

This role may also be a backup for providing summary information on incidents that are high priority. This requires being able to quickly understand the issue being reported and to be able to summarize from both a business and technical perspective, the impact to IBM.

Because we're a new team, the candidate cannot be somebody who waits for an assignment, I'm looking for somebody who will be able to provide input and feedback into the command center program to make it even more effective.

The IBM Global Information Security Organization (IBM CISO) is seeking a Cyber Security Command Center professional to work on the global Cyber Security team. The core function of this team is to coordinate, integrate and synchronize the full spectrum of Cybersecurity Operations acting as a bridge to communicate current threats and response to CISO Leadership, to improve IBM’s overall IT security posture

The ROLE

  • · In this role, you will work with a variety of teams within IBM to identify, track and report out on high priority Cybersecurity events and incidents across the IBM enterprise. The focus will be to leverage the intel being provided across the enterprise and to report high risk incidents. The IBM Command center is a fairly new team within the CISO organization, we are responsible for ensuring high priority Cybersecurity events and incidents are communicated and coordinated across the IBM enterprise, to ensure the appropriate actions are being taken. We are focused on being the team that ensures the work from Threat intel and threat hunt is being worked across the enterprise and actions taken. A candidate with some technical project mgmt may also be a good fit.

This role may also be a back information up to the CISO leadership team for awareness. You will be required to work in a highly collaborative and agile environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • · Work closely with the various teams that are responsible for any component of the Cybersecurity program and provide updates to any noteworthy events, incidents or threats to the IBM owned or managed systems. · Provide oversight to the Cybersecurity Incident Responders as they define and contain noteworthy cases. This will require technical knowledge for understanding of the threat at hand with the focus being on protecting the IBM owned and managed systems. · Provide oversight of critical events and/or incidents for accurate reporting and to ensure the work is advancing forward · Correlate data from multiple sources looking for trends to better support IBM’s security posture · You need to be comfortable multitasking, be calm under pressure, be self-driven and have initiative to drive progress. · Provide ongoing optimization and problem-solving support.

ABILITIES & SKILLS

  • · Experience in communicating both written and oral to Senior Management, Business Leaders as well as Security and Technology professionals. · Knowledgeable in Security best practices of controls · Recognizing and categorizing types of cyber security threats and vulnerabilities and applying the appropriate risk level. · Performing damage assessment · Knowledge of laws, regulations, policies, and ethics as they relate to cybersecurity and privacy (plus, not required) · Ability to identify gaps in security infrastructure and solutions and provide thought leadership in the development of appropriate technical solutions. · Need to be a self-starter with the ability to effectively lead · Technical breath not depth

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • · At least 5 years’ experience in IT Security Operations · At least 2 years’ experience in Incident Response in a global corporate enterprise · Experience working in a fast-paced environment. · Experience with programming or scripting languages. · Good understanding of threat intel and how it's a threat to the enterprise, ability to present technical information to both technical and non-technical audience as appropriate

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • · At least one Information Security Professional Certification (e.g. CISSP, CISM, CFCE, CCE, DFCP, GCIA, GCIH)
