Overall Role Description:

This is an exciting opportunity for a Vice President or Senior Associate to join the Global Corporate Bank to work on the Latin America Coverage effort, with a focus on Central America and the Caribbean.

The individual will be based in New York and will work closely with coverage, product, and risk teams throughout Latin America in both originating and executing transactions.

As such, the role entails both client coverage and execution responsibilities.

Job Description:

  • Develop and drive new business origination and relationship management

  • Identify, originate, drive, execute, and follow-up new areas of product growth across portfolio/prospect clients, in full coordination with GIB Bankers, Wholesale Payments, Markets, Debt Capital Markets among others

  • Work closely with Credit in risk profiling and structuring credit transactions including credit, loan, and derivatives documentation in an intelligent manner to address both risks and the particular capital structure needs of Central America and Caribbean clients

  • Learn about Central American and Caribbean economies, industry drivers, trends to better capture revenue opportunities with key existing and prospect clients

  • Build successful relationships with internal lines of businesses to maximize revenue growth, cross-sell products, and deliver the firm

  • Develop high connectivity with Global Investment Banking team (Industry and Coverage).

  • Lead and drive preparation and delivery of proposals, RFPs (i.e. coordinate deal team, meet deadlines, etc.)

  • Work with all product groups in identifying new market opportunities and converting targeted prospects to clients

  • Analyze client wallet, competitive positioning, and propose strategies to maximize revenue growth and market positioning

  • Conduct regular comprehensive client analysis & cross-functional reviews with peers (locally and regionally) to identify business needs and the maintenance of existing business relationships. Conversion of client analysis into concrete financial solutions

  • Train and develop junior resources including associates, analysts, and interns

  • Responsibility for marketing in-scope GCB products, including Traditional credit product, Debt, Treasury Services, Investor Services, Asset Management, FX, Derivatives, and Commodities

  • Help drive account planning processes for the Global Corporate Bank selected clients

  • Role will require travel to meet clients within Central America and the Caribbean

Qualifications:

  • We are looking for a Vice President or seasoned Associated with drive, stamina, and 4+ years of relevant Banking experience, with a balanced mix of commercial, interpersonal, and technical skills, to join the team and hit the ground running to cover a region that is fast-growing and dynamic.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics or related is required

  • Fluency in English and Spanish is required
