IBM Chief Mainframe Architect in New York, New York
As an IBM Application Architect, you directly help clients transform their business and solve complex problems. You will define the scope and vision for projects that deliver customized solutions using your knowledge of IBM platforms. You are a technical leader, serving as a liaison among business partners, technical resources, and project stakeholders.
Your Role and Responsibilities
The Chief Mainframe Architect is responsible for supporting technology assessments, design, infrastructure build, configuration, test and documentation of all aspected of new deployments and technical refresh of existing environments. You must be a subject matter expert in Mainframe z/OS architecture discipline with significant experience with architecture design and planning. In addition, experience configuring and managing infrastructure between multiple data centers as well as Level 3 troubleshooting and problem management skills supporting escalations from operations is required. This role may require off hours support along with other duties as assigned.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance or higher.
7+ yrs experience in a z/OS Solutions Architect, Enterprise Architect, or Lead Architect role leading the discovery, design, and construction of large scale Mainframe Migration solutions.
7+ years of experience with mainframe, non-x86 legacy systems and with technologies such as COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2 for z/OS, Assembler, Java, Rexx.
Experience in a range of migration discovery, profiling, migration automation, and operations technologies and tools.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
Acitve DoD Secret clearance or higher.
Experience with IBM zCloud Offerings.
