Hogarth Worldwide Business Affairs Manager in New York, New York

The Broadcast Business Affairs Manager is responsible for managing Hogarth NY’s broadcast talent and traffic functions. Responsibilities include but are not limited to day-to-day management of talent-related issues, contract review/auditing and production-related billing, business development, relationship management with casting agencies and talent payment vendors, and oversight of the traffic team. The Broadcast Business Affairs Manager works closely with the production and editing staff to manage all talent-related matters.

  • Collaborate with internal agency partners to manage talent needs of local, regional, national, and global accounts

  • Ensure clients and agency partners understand implications of talent needs in relation to client objectives

  • Utilize FIDO, Maconomy and Zonza for business affairs & traffic processes

  • Ongoing review of broadcast/talent process and practices with an eye toward enhancing profitability and improving effectiveness

  • Partner with internal teams and clients to identify organic revenue opportunities

  • Advise internal agency partners and other Hogarth offices on best practices regarding US talent management, usage processes, and the competitive landscape

  • Prepare talent estimates, book talent and issue all talent contracts for broadcast productions

  • Process talent and production-related payments, reconcile billing with finance, and prepare cast completion reports

  • Assist Producers with awarding jobs (i.e. identifying talent, issuing purchase orders, miscellaneous paperwork)

  • Continuous sourcing of 3rd party vendors for talent, talent payments, etc.

  • Hire, train, and manage the traffic team

  • Provide oversight of traffic for researching licensing information, handling network clearance for TV and radio, distribution of assets, utilizing FIDO and Zonza appropriately, and ensuring processes

  • Report music royalties and stock photos licenses

  • Participate with other Hogarth Worldwide offices in the development of a Global Rights Management Tool

  • Contribute to Hogarth Worldwide NY office agency culture by exhibiting ownership, professionalism, passion and leading by example

  • 5 - 8 years of agency and broadcast talent experience

  • Related college degree

  • Thorough understanding of SAG, AFTRA, and AFM rules, talent payment guidelines, and invoicing procedures

  • Knowledge of “best in class” industry vendors and casting agencies

  • Thorough understanding of post-production business model, ability to create accurate time of staff estimates, and manage budgets to client/agency expectations

  • Must be commercially astute and able to work in a fast-paced, fluid environment
