McGraw- Hill Education is hiring a Sr. Editor for its Health Care division. The Senior Editor will manage a portfolio of digital and print test prep products for the health care education market. She/he will be responsible for strategically growing the product line, both by enhancing existing products, as well as signing/acquiring new products. (#LI-AN1)

Your contribution to the team includes:

  • Manage a portfolio of digital products from concept to release. Oversee and deliver the operating plan to ensure that the following objectives are met: revenue projections, usage volume and profit margin attainment.
  • Act as a mediator between the customer and the technical team, communicating customer needs and translating those needs into product features/functionality. Stay abreast of all key competitors to maintain a strong and relevant value proposition.
  • Acquire and oversee content for both print and digital products. Work closely with authors to develop, refine, and finalize manuscripts ensuring that projects adhere to internal (division) and external (customer/market) standards and requirements.
  • Successfully negotiate author contracts, including advances, royalty rates, licensing, etc. while minimizing financial exposure/risk.
  • Prepare strategic product proposals for editorial and sales management, articulating the business rationale in a compelling and data-centric manner.

    What you'll need to be successful:
  • Bachelor's degree required (in a related discipline)
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in an editorial role in Medicine or related
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience successfully managing a digital product portfolio
  • Proven track record of collaborating with digital development team
  • Working knowledge of business models for academic learning resources
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to communicate with top experts in the field
  • Ability to develop manuscript, to include making decisions on the content, direction, writing abilities of authors, etc.
