Duties: University Police Communications and Security Specialists provide communications, security, and public safety services within a 24/7 operation in the University Police Departments at the campuses of the State University of New York (SUNY). Their primary responsibility is to function as the initial point of contact between the police and the public, performing dispatching activities, and using various databases, online systems, and multiple video sources.

Qualifications: Candidates must meet one of the following criteria:1. Reachable via his/her score on the University Police Communications & Security Specialist 1 list.2. Have a current permanent appointment with 1 year of State service as a University Police Communications & Security Specialist 1.3. Hold a State title eligible for 70.1 transfer to Police Communications & Security Specialist 1.

• Must obtain a Security Guard Photo ID from the New York State Department of State within 90 days of appointment
