Duties: The Hudson Valley Advanced Manufacturing Center at the State University of New York at New Paltz invites applications for a two-year temporary position as a lab technician in the Hudson Valley Advanced Manufacturing Center.This position will support all operations of the Hudson Valley Advanced Manufacturing Center including:- Operate and maintain professional and desktop 3D printer- Perform a variety of post-processing steps on 3D printed and molded parts- Train and supervise student assistants- Maintain inventory of parts and materials for all fabrication equipment in the HVAMC- Help with tours and demonstrations for visitors- Participate in marketing and educational activities through the HVAMCNew Paltz is committed to providing high quality, affordable education to students from all social and economic backgrounds. Qualifications: Required:• Undergraduate degree in Art, Design, Technology, Engineering or related field• Two years of experience with the operation of additive fabrication technologies• One year of experience with 3D modeling in an industry standard CAD package (Rhino, Solidworks, etc)• Familiarity with material properties and multiple approaches to making and fabrication• Strong customer service and communication skills and ability to maintain professionalism in a fast-paced environment• Excellent attention to detail and punctuality

Preferred:• 3+ years experience with 3D printing and advanced fabrication in an academic or production environment• Basic understanding of computer programing in Java, Python, or C++• Previous experience working in an academic lab environment
