This is a full-time position at our Long Island City Queens location. Monday through Friday, 6:00 am - 3:00 p.m., 40 hours per week.
On Site daily
Support residents in the (self) administration of medication
Documentation of (self) administration of medication
Performs TB and Drug screenings on all patients within 72 hours of admissions
Performs routine urine drug screens as directed by the treatment/recovery plan
Monitors and records vital signs
Provides triage and provides medical services accordingly
For patients with health care needs, schedules and coordinates all medical appointments, and provides periodic follow-up
Reviews and transcribes medication orders, and monitors medication records for compliance;
Observes and records response to treatment/medication and notifies the Medical Director, the RN Supervisor, and the Program Director of any such instances
Monitors ongoing/chronic medical problems
Handles minor needs of patients including attending to minor injuries, administering routine medications
Maintains all medical records
Performs QA activities
Performs accurate and complete audits of medication transported, received, administered, stored or disposed, as trained and assigned, in accordance with Phoenix House medication policies and procedures.
One year related experience.
Current NYS License; current certification in CPR, Child Abuse and Infection Control
·Graduate from an accredited nursing program
Phoenix House conducts as needed, job-related background checks, fingerprints, drug testing, physical exams, medical exams, TB testing, verification of employment history and/or reference checks prior to employment.
