Job Summary: The Accounts Payable staff position performs the multitude of day to day processes generally involved with the Accounts Payable functions to support the CFO/Controller in the recording and monitoring the daily activity from all operations. These tasks predominantly include recording of Accounts Payable, Cash Disbursements, and credit card activity, processing of vendor checks and related type activity. Some assistance in cash receipts, receivable billing and inventory is also required.

Essential Functions:
Records all accounts payable items for all business units and verify that all invoices are supported.
Produces all vendor checks on a weekly basis and maintains control on open but unpaid accounts payable. Records all transactions in financial software and maintains certain EXCEL files related to activity. Assists inventory clerks to verify that inventory invoicing is properly entered and assists in inventory counts. Provides support and backup for other office staff. Assists with preparation and distribution of reports on a routine and ad hoc basis. Make recommendations for improvement as necessary Qualification Standards: Participate in month end and year end reconciliations, inventory counts and related financial activity. Assist with clerical tasks including data analysis, maintenance of data files associated with vendors and cash flow. Work cross-functionally with other office staff as required. Detail oriented. Physical Requirements: Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders. May be required to lift 25 pounds and carry for short distances.
Educational and/or Experience Requirements: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required, 2-year degree preferred. Excellent data entry, PC skills, proficiency in EXCEL, and ability to learn new software. Experience with accounts payable, general ledgers and journal entries Inventory experience a plus. Proficiency with computer equipment (printing, and scanning) required Demonstration of professionalism and a spirit of cooperation within the organization Self-motivated ability to work independently without need for constant supervision Task oriented works to complete tasks in a precise and timely manner Ability to work a fairly structured environment with a work schedule of primarily 8:30 am to 5pm Monday to Friday.
