Thermo Fisher Scientific General Manager - Cell and Gene Therapy in Grand Island, New York
The primary focus of this divisional role is to optimize strategy, roadmap and workflow offerings for Cell and Gene Therapy customers in clinical development or commercial stage, and drive revenue growth in this space for the BioProduction (BPD) division. The GM will coordinate BPD efforts in this space through the newly created Cell and Gene Therapy Strategic Business Segment (CGT SBS) and will work closely with product management in all of the business units as well as with R&D, Operations, Commercial, Marketing and other functions across BPD. The GM will drive the evolution of our business strategy and accelerate growth through both organic and inorganic initiatives while engaging and leveraging BPD's diverse talent, technologies, infrastructure, and operating principles to deliver the best of Thermo Fisher to our customers.
Engage and align key stakeholders and cross-functional teams across BPD to refine BPD's Cell & Gene Therapy strategy.
Drive revenue and profitability growth for CGT segment in BPD by positioning the combined capabilities of BPD and delivering a great customer experience for CGT manufacturing
Provide coordinated BPD CGT strategy and investment plans. Partner with BPD's marketing and commercial teams to identify and implement focused commercial programs based on the CGT pipeline, deliver the Division's value proposition and the effective commercialization of new innovations.
Maintain strong customer focus and build relationships and partnerships with Key Opinion Leaders, strategic partners.
Streamline BPD engagement in broader CGT programs with the Life Sciences Group, Pharma Services Group and other Thermo Fisher entities.
Work closely with the VP Innovation and Market Development to evaluate new business opportunities, building and driving the cross-divisional portfolio roadmap, and working with operational colleagues to provide high quality products that will enable our customers to successfully transition from research, to clinical, and ultimately commercialization.
Be a contributing leader within the BPD leadership teams, driving collaboration to ensure achievement of growth targets.

Bachelor's degree in science / technical discipline
Strong understanding of life sciences and biomanufacturing space, including preferably experience with Cell & Gene Therapy Market
Demonstrated ability to set strategic direction for new/high growth business, entrepreneurial drive
Demonstrated ability to execute against a robust growth strategy, and driving strategy evolution based on market dynamics
Self-motivated with strong drive towards results
Collaborative. Effective at building relationships. Demonstrated ability to successfully achieve results through influence in complex matrix organizations, including strong presentation and communication skills
Talent management and people development skills, with an appreciation for the importance of diversity in building a high performing team
Additional preferred but not required attributes:
Experience working in regulated environment
MBA and/or additional advanced degree
Travel: approximately 30% globally
