Position Summary:

The primary responsibility of the Business Excellence Specialist is to oversee the BPD Cell Culture Program Management Office (PMO) training program and manage Practical Process Improvement (PPI) initiatives for assigned business, site(s), and/or region.

Key Responsibilities:

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead BPD Commercial Covid-19 Command Center

  • Responsible for COVID-19 case escalation management driving timely execution and resolution of standard and escalated orders

  • Provide case visibility and status updates to Commercial/Client Services and Solutions leadership team members.

  • Champion continuous improvement culture

  • Offer coaching to managers and teams to help identify root cause and develop project plans to address them.

  • Function as a role model and change agent through promotion of continuous improvement tools throughout PMO and commercial operations

  • Oversee Cell Culture PMO training administration and workshops

  • Document procedures and work instructions using PPI methodology to identify opportunities to streamline processes

  • Develop, coordinate and conduct skills training courses for Cell Culture PMO staff, this may include technical training and cross functional (Operations/Commercial) training on PMO process

  • Select appropriate training methods or activities (e.g. simulations, mentoring, on-the-job training, professional development classes)

  • Communicate available training to employees and coordinate training schedule, manage employee onboarding plan

  • Interact with functional organizations to develop specifications for content courses and identify skills or knowledge gaps that need to be addressed

  • Use known education principles and stay up to date on new training methods and techniques

  • Assess instructional effectiveness and determine the impact of training on employee skills and KPIs

  • Maintain updated curriculum database and training records

  • Host train-the-trainer sessions for internal subject matter experts

  • Assist in building Global PMO Training Program for implementation across regions

  • Lead PMO PPI Steering Committee & Develop Pipeline

  • Partner with PMO leaders to develop a strong project pipeline

  • Secure resources and buy in from key stakeholders

  • Facilitate monthly meetings to drive accountability to assigned team members

  • Drive activities to meet annual savings targets and KPI goals

  • When required support other Business Excellence Functions including:

  • Strategic Development

  • Quality Assurance

  • Analytics and Insights

  • Process Documentation

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in leadership, project management, and/or customer service

  • 2+ years of experience as training coordinator or similar role designing training programs and workshops

  • BS/BA degree in Education, Training, HR, Business Management or relevant field

  • Qualified PPI Process Manager or similar certification with capability of becoming a qualified PPI trainer within 6 months of hire

  • Excellent time management, communication, decision making, organization, and interpersonal skills

  • High proficiency and capability with MS Office and learning management software

  • Ability to travel as needed
