As an Occupational Heealth Training Specialist this role would assist and deliver occupational healthcare training
programs to identified personnel. Conduct training classes, and develops criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities. Keeps abreast of training and development research: learning theory, motivation theory, and new materials, methods, and techniques. Also keeps abreast of changes in DOT, OSHA, State and Federal Health Department and other regulatory changes that impact the training required for employees of the organization. Implements in-house programs and practices to improve the operational readiness of WellNow personnel as it relates to the delivery of Occupational Health Services.
Coordinate implementation of Occupational Health training programs with Manager of Occupational Health Training
Oversee Occupational Health training in locations throughout NY State and/or other geographic regions as needed.
Perform retraining and corrective training with staff as needed.
Perform Train the Trainer classes and monitor trainers performance.
Monitor new staff, and coordinate training with Site Managers and/or Regional Managers
Assist in educating staff on developed and updated training materials as needed.
Ensure training is available at each location prior to opening and thereafter to ensure operational readiness with occupational health services to include, at minimum, DOT certification, drug and alcohol testing, spirometry, and fit testing.
Maintain a current understanding of rules and regulations as they relate to training program materials
Bachelor’s degree preferred or 3+ years of relevant work experience.
3 to 5 years of healthcare related experience. Training and development experience preferred.
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people.
Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials.
Skill in organizing and establishing priorities.
Must be detail-oriented and well organized.
Demonstrated personal computer skills using Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
Must have at time of hire and maintain throughout employment a valid New York State Driver’s license.
Ability to work additional hours, including nights and weekends as needed.
Some travel may be required.
Required License and/or training certification:
Train the Trainer course or Master Trainer in drug and alcohol training
NIOSH approved Spirometry certificate
