SCO Family of Services Center for Family Life - SPHS AmeriCorps in Brooklyn, New York
CENTER FOR FAMILY LIFE, a nationally-recognized social service program in Sunset Park Brooklyn, is seeking college students to serve asAmeriCorps Workersto support youth engagement programs and promote student leadership development. Members will gain experience in: working with high-school aged youth, interdisciplinary-work within an educational setting, and the social work group model. Our ideal candidate has knowledge and a demonstrated interest in working with youth and will utilize a strengths-based approach to enrich the lives of youth, families and community.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Supervise students in a variety of activities including art-based recreation, after school clubs, and homework assistance, both virtually and in-person in a socially-distanced model
- Co-facilitate afterschool clubs with CFL staff members; attend trainings relating to social group work and team meetings
- Provide individual mentoring to a caseload of high school students
- Assist in the design and implementation of special events for high school students, families, and community

Flexible Scheduling Living Allowance Receive Educational Award, upon successful completion of program, for the following terms: 675 hour term - $2,360.00 stipend
