We are currently searching for a Director of ICU at our North Central Bronx Campus.
NYC Health + Hospitals/North Central Bronx handles more than 156,000 outpatient visits, more than 50,000 emergency room visits and more than 7,500 admissions annually in the 232-bed facility. The hospital maintains an academic affiliation with the James J. Peters VA Medical Center.
The ICU Director supports the Chief of Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine or designee in all activities of NCB ICU. Activities include but are not limited to:
Aligning ICU activities with the Department of Medicine strategic plan under the direction of the Chairperson/designee and the hospital administration with regards to missions, direction, quality, efficiency and care of patients.
Reports directly to the Chief, Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine.
Collaborates with the Director & Associate Director of the MICU
Leads and directs ICU activities:
Clinical: ensure ICU patients consistently receive excellent and safe care in keeping with all standards
Educational: ensure residents are given ICU orientation
Performance Improvement: minimize ICU hospital acquiredinfections
Administrative: attend selected committees, represents the ICU at selected meetings
Academic: supports the development and continuing education of the CCM faculty
Graduate from an accredited medical school
Fellowship trained in Critical Care/Pulmonary Medicine
Active NYS medical license, or the ability to obtain one
Prior leadership preferred
