WATTS Systems Engineer in Blauvelt, New York

As a member of the Systems Engineering Team, the Systems Engineer will work with Manufacturing Representatives or other professional and technical personnel at commercial, industrial and other establishments to support the Sales Representatives on sizing, selection, energy savings calculations, and the application of equipment and controls in complex systems. This individual will also lead training events as needed throughout the market area.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Provides equipment operating parameters and supports accessory selection.

  • Performs necessary engineering calculations to support product selection and recommendations.

  • On occasion may assist in training and sales calls in the field and at the factory.

  • Supports Application Engineers through training and other functions.

  • Stays current on platform products, competitor product offerings and other HVAC products to understand and explain key selling points and be able to help field engineering staff determine best match of equipment for optimum efficiency and system reliability; provides specification assistance.

  • Advocates energy efficiency and system affordability as key drivers of the daily business.

  • Maintains knowledge of plant's processes, techniques, tools, materials, machines and equipment.

  • Maintains knowledge of industry trends, developments and markets.

  • Models Watts business goals for quality and customer focus by successfully fulfilling the role of a functional team member

  • Models Watts business philosophy by demonstrating respect for coworkers on a daily basis. Performs other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

BA/BS degree in Engineering; Mechanical preferred.

1+ years’ experience in HVAC or related industries, particularly in the integration of varied devices.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, talk, and/or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Office environment with occasional shop floor working environment. Noise level is minimal. Required to wear safety glasses and utilize other safety equipment as required while present on the shop floor.
