What You Will Do
As an Associate with St. Mary's Hospital-NY, you will have the opportunity to assist with basic patient care activities.
Assists with procedures ordered by physician and supervised by a Registered Nurse (RN).
Assists patients with tending to personal care, activities of daily living and transfers/transport.
Reports findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
Assists with keeping patient rooms clean and orderly.
Communicates with patients, families, physicians and other healthcare team members about patient care according to protocol.
Assists with processing patient admissions, transfers and discharges. Assembles and maintains patient charts.
Alserts RN of significant changes in patient rhythm; performs accurate rhythm interpretation & forwards telemetry documentation to Med/Surg floors; able to troubleshoot cardiac monitoring equipment; assures alarms are activated
Completes requests for supplies & other department services in a timely manner
What You Will Need
CertifiedBLS Providerobtained within3 Months (90 days)of hire date or job transfer date.
CertifiedNurse Aidecredentialed from theNew York Department of Health - Nurse Aide Registryobtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Education & Work Experience:
HS or Equivalent
